Optional Learning Tasks for Autumn 2024
Please see the selection of tasks you can enjoy at home to support the learning this term:
Up, Up and Away!
Our History learning this term is exploring and discovering all about the American aviation pioneer, Amelia Earhart.
So far, the Rhinos has considered what Amelia was like when she was young and they have thought about why she took risks and embarked on dangerous adventures - all in the name of making flying history.

Values & Vision
We love working hard, earning Dojo points when we demonstrate our school values of: Kindness, Respect, Honesty, Positivity & Teamwork

We also celebrate as we learn to fill our 'backpack' with the Arun Villages Federation Vision:

Curriculum Overview for the Autumn Term
Learning to Learn Week: 3rd - 6th September 2024
We started the term exploring stories that reflect our class animals:

The Rhinos listened to the story 'Umbrella' and considered who they would like to visit their classroom if they had a magical umbrella!

Look who we would like to fly into our classroom using a custom-decorated, autographed umbrella!
The Learning Environment

Our classrooms are bright and spacious and always full of fun and creativity. The Reception children learn through a play-based curriculum, following their interests to become inquisitive and resilient life-long learners. Years 1 and 2 follow the National Curriculum, also engaging in continuous provision to encourage stamina and independence through their learning choices.
Penguins follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and work towards meeting Early Learning Goals in:
communication and language
physical development
personal, social and emotional development
literacy
mathematics
understanding the world
expressive arts and design
