School Clubs – Autumn Term 2022
We are pleased that School Clubs are will be taking place again this term. After School Sports Clubs are run by Matt Dingle, Joe Gravestock and the team from 1:1 FFPC. The coaches also take our school PE lessons so they are familiar visitors to the school and have good relationships with the children.
Clubs will start on Tuesday 13th September and will run until the end of the autumn Term 2022.
We are delighted to inform parents that the PE and Sport Premium funding is enabling us to fully subsidise sports clubs and therefore we are able to offer these clubs free of charge to participating children. The PE and Sport Premium funding is given to schools to encourage children to take part in physical activity, develop an awareness of a healthy lifestyle and to promote mental and emotional as well as physical well-being. Using this funding to subsidise clubs means that children who attend need to have a genuine interest in the club and will participate fully and enthusiastically should they be allocated a place.
Sports clubs will run as follows:
Mondays – Team Games 3.15pm – 4.15pm – Yrs 1-3
Tuesdays – Football – 3.15pm to 4.15pm – Yrs 4 -6
Wednesdays – Netball 3.15pm to 4.15pm Yrs 3-6
Thursdays – Ball Skills – 3.15pm to 4.15pm Yrs 1-3
The following clubs will be run by class teachers at lunchtime 12.30-1.00pm:
Tuesdays – Colouring & Mindfulness - Years 1-6 (max 15) Mrs Holt
Thursdays – Creative Writing Club – Years 4-6 (max 10) Mrs Parker
Fridays – Choir – Years 2 - 6 Mrs Douse
If your child would like to attend a School Club, please click on the link below to complete the Google form.
The closing date for completing the Google form is 9.00am on Friday 16th September 2022. Parents will receive an email to advise if their child has a place in a club.
Sports clubs are limited to a maximum of 16 children for Football and Netball and 12 for Team Games and Ball Skills. Places at clubs will be allocated based on criteria that is given in the guidance for PE and Sport Premium funding and in a way that ensures fairness and accessibility for all. If your child’s first preference is not available, we will allocate their second preference where possible.
A waiting list for clubs will be created if there are more children wishing to attend than we are able to allocate. Repeat non-attendance, non-participation or poor behaviour at a club will result in a child losing their place and a child on the waiting list being offered the place instead.
We are aware that some parents/carers use the clubs as after school care; if your child is not allocated a place at a club which would affect your childcare, Jo Kent, supervisor at Chuckleberries, offers after school care from 3:15-5:45pm every day for £5/hour per child. Jo is an Ofsted registered childminder.
