Facilities
St James' School is situated in the Village of Coldwaltham at the foot of the South Downs and within the South Downs National Park. We have a range of facilites which enable children to learn and play in safe and picturesque surroundings:
- 4 large well resourced classrooms which includes Chuckleberries Pre-school.
- IT facilities in each classroom include an interactive board, access to classroom PCs and a trolley of laptops and learning pads which can be used by all classes. We also have a well equipped IT and library resource room.
- a hall which is used for a range of activities, including assembly/worship, lunch, sports activities, drama productions and singing.
- the hall is also used each week by our Baby and Toddler group which meets on Tuesdays at 10.00.
- extensive grounds including playground with netball/basketball facilities, football field also used for other sports e.g. rounders, cricket, stoolball, wooden play structures for all age groups, an Early Years play area, an allotment available for all classes to use, a pond/wildlife area, two forest school areas, a quiet garden, a minibeast study area and plenty of room to run around and keep active.
- hot lunches are prepared on site and available to order online. (hot lunches are available free to pupils in Reception, Yr 1 & 2 on an opt-out basis).
- access to the local Church, St Giles.
