Uniform
The Governing Board sets the uniform policy for the school and have decided to have a school uniform which all children must wear. Click here to read our full uniform policy.
The uniform at St James' is:
Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress
or
Red and white checked dress - for warmer weather
White polo shirt (with a school logo or plain white)
Maroon sweatshirt or cardigan (with school logo or plain maroon)
Grey or white socks or grey tights
Black school shoes which can be fastened easily by the child (opened toe sandals or raised heels are not permitted)
PE Kit - Black gym shorts, white t-shirt (with or without logo) and black plimsolls
Logo Fleece - Optional item to be worn over (not instead of) a sweatshirt
Water bottle - all children are required to bring a full water bottle to school each day
Book bags are preferable for children in Reception and Year 1 and may also be used by children in other years
Jewellery - watch and stud earrings only, which must be removed for PE
Children should not wear extreme hairstyles (shaved logos or dyed hair) to school. Makeup is not permitted and nail varnish, if used, should be removed for school.

The wearing of items with the school logo is optional, and plain uniform in the correct colours is perfectly acceptable if parents prefer it.
All items of uniform, coats, water bottles and PE kits should be marked clearly with the child's name.
